MICHAEL KIRBY
ABOUT ME

My name is Michael Kirby, and I have been passionate about video games since the age of four, inspired by Spyro the Dragon. I studied Art at High School, followed by Art, Graphic Design, and Illustration at The Met in Sussex. I then earned a BA in Computer Games Art from the University for the Creative Arts, Farnham (High 2:1), and a Master’s in Computer Games Art and Design from Goldsmiths, University of London (First).

I have several years of experience in the games industry as a UI Artist/Designer and Game Designer at Roll7, Supermassive Games, and Coatsink, contributing to BAFTA-nominated and award-winning projects such as OlliOlli World, The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me, Facebook Messenger Games, Astronimo, and Batman: Arkham Shadow and BattleKin. My work spans level design, puzzle design, gameplay systems, UI/UX, and feature ideation, collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to create engaging and player-focused experiences.

Beyond the studio, I am constantly exploring creativity across disciplines. I have worked as a freelance graphic designer on film concepts, DVDs, book covers, and branding/marketing materials, and I have created my own indie comic series, UNITED. I am passionate about learning, developing my skills, and helping ideas take shape through thoughtful design, storytelling, and visual communication.
