ABOUT ME

IMG_3733.JPG

My name is Michael Kirby and since the age of 4, I have always wanted to work in the video games industry. I was inspired by the game Spyro the Dragon and from that point onward I knew what I wanted to do when I grew up. I majored in Art at High School and went on to study Art, Graphic Design and Illustration at The Met in Sussex. I then went on to study Computer Games Art at the University for the Creative Arts Farnham, where I gained a High 2:1. After my Bachelors I then studied for my Masters at Goldsmiths University of London, in Computer Games Art and Design, where I earned a First.

I have worked in the games industry for a few years as a UI Artist/Designer and Game Designer at Roll7, Supermassive Games and currently Coatsink; where I work currently as a Game Designer. I have worked on a variety of games most notably on the multi-platform game called OlliOlli World and The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me and Astronimo.

I am hardworking and passionate about video games and the industry itself, I am constantly working to extend and develop my current knowledge and enjoy exploring all aspects of creativity and design.

I have worked successfully as a freelance graphic designer, on film concepts, DVDs and book covers. I have also assisted businesses with branding and marketing materials, using a wide range of software programmes. Recently I have also release my own comic book series called United.
