PEARL

The pollution of the oceans is increasing every day, and more marine species are facing extinction with each passing hour. We decided to make a game where the player controls a local pearl goddess who cleans the ocean and restores life.

Pearls are formed from pollution inside a pearl clam, which is why we chose it as our main character. The game has two possible endings: the player either wins by beating the timer and reducing pollution, or they lose and fail to make it in time. In both cases, the pearl breaks, reflecting the reality that it is impossible to save everything from ocean pollution, even a victory cannot prevent the pearl from becoming too polluted to continue.

The goal is to heal all the creatures and seaweed, and to replenish the oily blobs that are infecting marine life.

I successfully contributed to this game for the Green Ukie Game Jam 2019 using the Unity engine. I worked as a 3D artist, creating low-poly sea animals and simple UI elements on my iPad using Procreate. The team consisted of four people, and we had 48 hours to complete the project.
